About Us

Who We Are

Created in 2011, Green Forest Foundation has 10 years of experience in rural development consultancy for national and international partners. Formerly known as Bokwaongo Green Forest (BOGREF).
GREFF was created with the intention to
(i) Initiate sustainable development actions to improve the livelihoods of local communities,
(ii) Engage with local communities to address natural resource-linked conflicts,
(iii)Mobilize and empower poor and vulnerable natural-resource dependent groups in rural communities and
(iv) Support rural advocacy for rural and societal transformation.
GREFF has competence in the following relevant areas
(1) Overcoming forest and farm products value chain constraints,
(2) Institutional capacity assessment and capacity building,
(3) Situational analysis and reporting,
(4) Crop production and commodification,
(5) Group mobilization, cooperative formation and governance,
(6) Business planning,
(7) Fundamental and action-based research on the management of natural resource systems.
We pride ourselves with consultants who have a wealth of experience working for reputable organizations such as the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Grassfield Participatory and Integrated Rural Development Project (GP-IRDP) and Cameroon’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), the Pan African Institute for Development – West Africa (PAID-WA), the National Community Driven Development Program (PNDP), The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ). The team has excellent communication skills, they have good facilitation, analytical, writing and reporting skills.

Our Vision

Green Forest Foundation strives to be a leader in the participatory engagement of local communities in the promotion of landscape restoration, natural resource co-management, sustainable agriculture and in improving the value chains of forest and agricultural products. Our vision combines fundamental and action-oriented research and consultancy to improve multi-scale natural resource governance.

Our Mission

To empower local communities to make informed choices in natural resources and landscape management and governance. We equally exist to advance fundamental and action-oriented research and consultancy on natural resource-based livelihoods.
